Mawby, out of Michigan, has been in the sparkling wine business for more than two decades and has derived many accolades for its finely tuned, harmonious wines. It was only in 2016 they decided to jump into the cider game.
Using only Leelanau Peninsula apples, Mawby has crafted a collection of ciders that are highly reflective of their sparkling wine experience. They are all very elegant bottlings, all very clear and all very wine like. And they are all very affordable, ranging in price from $12.00 to $15.00 for the 750ml bottle.
We sampled and reviewed three different Mawby Sparkling Ciders:
The Century (3.5 Stars), a hopped cider produced with Centennial hopes
The Wild (3.5 Stars), a clean sparkler produced from Ida and Northern Spy
The Bright (4 Stars), a delicate, decidedly wine-like sparkler
Mawby is located in Sutton Bay on the Leeanau Peninsula in Northern Michigan. It’s ciders are available for purchase on line and they will ship cider to the following states: CA, CO, DC, FL, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NC, NY, OH, SC, TX, VA, WI.
