The “Made Marion” (cute) pours clear and violet. You might mistake it for a darker, young Pinot Noir. The aroma here is rich berry verging on blackberry pie. There may be some apple underneath there and maybe even a welcome thyme aroma, but the berry waft is pretty strong with this one. On the palate you’ll get a cheery, light bodied drink that shows off the prickle of acid but also gives some really interesting tannins too. The flavors are sweetness and berry. The berry gets strong the finish in particular. This isn’t meant to be a complex cider. It is meant to be a sweet refreshing cider that serves up berry flavors and it succeeds perfectly. However simple it may be, it is appealing.
