Another active set of suds I associate now with Mawby ciders hits the glass then smooths out to reveal a clear, straw-colored cider. This is a hopped cider and it shows in the nose where distinct floral notes lay over somewhat buried apple aromas. The name of the cider derives from the use of Centennial hops used in the cider’s dosage. It’s a light bodied cider that uses a refreshing swipe of acid across the palate and moderate effervescence to deliver its structure, with a thin layer of tannin lingering on the edge. The flavors here are dominated by refreshing citrus, green apple, and distinctive hops-derived bitterness. It drinks very clean and will be a great reward for the cider drinkers looking for something hopped.
