Gold in color, bordering on Yellow, the Lake Chelan Heritage from Washington Gold is a bright clear pour. No foaming in this still cider. Aromatically, this cider presents challenges. Yes, it’s ripe apple driven but those lovely apple aromas are accompanied by a murky, dank character. Additionally, there is a distinctive green/herbal set of aromas, all of which together make for an uninspiring experience. On the palate you get sugar and apple. It’s not dank or murky. It’s not herbal. It’s sweet and apply. Full Stop. A bit more acid would help the Lake Chelan Heritage, particularly give that this is a still cider. Little or no tannin to speak of.
